Every year, Laguna Development Corporation has the honor of volunteering at the Laguna Rainbow Center and spreading holiday cheer by providing a holiday feast prepared by LDC’s award-winning Food & Beverage team.

On November 18th, twenty LDC employees and managers from all areas of the company gathered together and shared their time with senior residents at Laguna Rainbow Center. This annual tradition includes a delicious Thanksgiving meal courtesy of LDC’s Food & Beverage team and showcases LDC’s commitment to community involvement in the Pueblo of Laguna.

Volunteering is part of LDC’s philosophy and mission, and gives employees the opportunity to make an impact on the lives of others. Each year, employees and seniors alike look forward to spending time with each other, enjoying delicious food and making meaningful connections. Elders bring a wealth of knowledge to the Laguna community, and as a company, LDC recognizes this value and is devoted to being actively involved in serving the Pueblo of Laguna and it’s elderly residents.

Employees from both Route 66 Casino and Dancing Eagle Casino were on hand, many of which continually volunteer at this event year after year.  Director of Food & Beverage Abel Avila said “We look forward to this event every year! It is so wonderful to see all the smiling faces of the residents when bring in the delicious food. We appreciate the opportunity to share our time with the senior residents of Laguna.” LDC appreciates the chance to play a role in improving the lives of the elders in the community simply by sharing their time and spreading holiday cheer.

LDC seeks to make a difference in the community by engaging in community activities and volunteering year-round in various capacities such as the annual Earth Day community clean-up. Additionally, LDC has donated thousands of dollars to programs and events that benefit children, education and youth sports. It is with the help of great organizations such as Laguna Rainbow Center that welcome LDC and allows employees to engage and build relationships with not only the elderly residents but the community as well.

LDC encourages employees to perform good deeds and spread holiday cheer. This can be something as simple as greeting a customer when they walk through our doors or helping a customer with whatever they may need.
