On April 29th, Dancing Eagle Casino is hosted a Zumba Fitness Party, in the Event Center, to benefit the Pueblo of Laguna Health and Wellness program. The event was a huge success with a total of $1,410 raised for the wellness program. Lisa Schroder, DEC Group Sales and Event Coordinator, commented; “I think this event was a hit! The community loved it and people came out from the surrounding areas to participate, in fact, it was so popular that there were many calls for more tickets after the event had sold out.” The event was hosted by Zumba licensed instructor Angela Sanchez, from Studio Z. Studio Z is based in Grants, New Mexico, but serves the entire Northwest portion of the state. Studio Z has been in business for over a year and believes that Zumba classes should be designed around the students. Along with Angela, guest instructors from Zuni, Los Alamos, Gallup, Grants, Los Lunas, and El Paso helped over 140 participants burn approximately 400-1100 calories over three hours. This Zumba Super Party was an excellent kick-off to heath awareness and guests enjoyed the evening of fun, sweat and philanthropy.
