Laguna Development Corporation Board Chairman Steve Szapor recently announced the promotion of Route 66 General Manager Tim Perkins to the position of Chief Operating Officer effective immediately.

Tim brings more than 30 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry including tenures in both native and commercial gaming establishments. In his position as General Manager of Route 66 Casino Hotel since 2015, he oversaw several successful improvement projects including the casino floor re-design, the opening of the Route 66 RV Resort, the opening of the new Buffet 66 Fresh Market and most recently the opening of Stadium 66 and The Book. In his new position, Tim plans to work closely with the entire LDC team to provide leadership and direction focused on moving LDC forward into the next decade.

Tim is a highly decorated veteran serving our country in the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring in 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and an Associate’s Degree in Recreation Management from the Community College of the Air Force. Perkins also completed three in-residence leadership academies through the Department of Defense during the course of his formal training as a Senior Enlisted Advisor.
