Laguna-Acoma Football Team Tours University Stadium

The Laguna-Acoma football team was invited to tour the athletic facilities at University Stadium before the University of New Mexico Lobos took the field against Arizona on September 13th. LDC Human Resources staff arranged the tour with the help of UNM staff.

The football team arrived on a bus from Laguna-Acoma High School, and they were taken on a guided tour of the impressive football training facilities at University Stadium. The tour served as a tool to highlight the opportunities that await Laguna student-athletes if they continue to show dedication in academics and sports.

The partnership established in 2008 between Route 66 Casino Hotel and University of New Mexico Athletics has opened doors for children and families of the Pueblo of Laguna, setting an example of the opportunities available for young athletes and the importance of education.

Throughout the year Laguna youth will have more opportunities to have one-on-one interaction with UNM athletes. Laguna Development Corporation will be partnering with UNM Athletics to build other community and sports & wellness programs in the future.
