LDC began managing the Pueblo's gaming operations with completion of the Dancing Eagle Casino in 2000. Shortly after the opening of Dancing Eagle, LDC opened Casino Xpress, a small slot operation located at the Rio Puerco Exit. Casino Xpress is part of the Route 66 development, and became the anchor for the current travel center, convenience store, and diner that was opened adjacent to the Xpress facility. LDC expanded its gaming operations in 2003 with completion of the Route 66 Casino.
Dancing Eagle Casino
The Dancing Eagle Casino, LDC's first gaming enterprise, opened in 2000. It is located off of Interstate 40 at Exit 108, approximately 22 miles east of Grants, New Mexico. It features amenities for the traveler or commercial trucks passing through on I-40. The casino has 450 slot and video poker machines, and eight table games, including $5 Single Deck Blackjack, $2 Blackjack, and 25' Roulette. There is full service restaurant, and live free entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. Parking is not an issue here, there are 500 parking slots for vehicles and 350 for semis. Route 66 Casino
LDC expanded its gaming operations with the opening of Route 66 Casino, a 158,000 square foot facility, in September 2003. It is located 17 miles west of downtown Albuquerque at Exit 140 off of Interstate 40. The casino is themed with Route 66 memorabilia. It offers 1,600 slot and video poker machines, 26 table games, a 500-seat bingo hall with snack bar, a dedicated poker room with 12 tables, a full service bar, and multiple large-screen plasma TVs. It also a Route 66-themed gift shop, Legends Theatre, a live entertainment venue with a state-of-the-art sound system and graduated, arena-style seats for up to 3,000. The Route 66 Casino food venues include a 330-seat Hungry Cowboy Buffet, a Johnny Rockets hamburger franchise, and a dedicated bingo room snack bar.
Laguna Development Corporation unveiled the addition of the new Route 66 Casino Hotel at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, January 10th, 2008. The 147,000 square foot expansion included a 154-room hotel. The six floor Route 66 Casino Hotel features single and double rooms, 40" flat screen televisions in every room, free high speed internet, indoor pool with a resort-style waterfall, outdoor sundeck and a recreation and business center. The Route 66 Casino Hotel is the only hotel on Route 66 and remains New Mexico's only themed Casino, representing the nostalgia of old "Route 66".
Other new venues include the new Main Street restaurant featuring 24 hour casino-side patio dining; Kids Quest and Cyber Quest, hourly child care for children 6 weeks to 12 years old and a high-tech non-violent arcade; an additional 8,000 square feet of meeting and convention space for business meetings, groups, banquets and other special events.
The new KXX Nightclub will be the center of entertainment in the new expansion. The KXX Lounge area features live entertainment adjacent to the casino floor, shadow dancing and a new opportunity for guests to enjoy their favorite beverage. The addition of KXX, a true Vegas-Style nightclub, will be the first of its kind in the Albuquerque Area.

Casino Xpress
The Casino Xpress was opened during the Construction of Route 66 Casino as a temporary gaming facility. However, due to high customer demand Casino Xpress has remained open after the completion of the Route 66 Casino. It offers 130 slot machines. It is located adjacent to the Route 66 Casino property and is within several steps of the Route 66 Travel Center. |
